Affiliate Niche Marketing Strategy
By Guy Lecky-Thompson – Niche Profit Course Review
How to use niche marketing strategy, niche market products, keyword search tools, and keyword marketing research to build a niche store and promote niche products.
The question, as always, is this : can a niche be identified, and exploited, before everyone else realizes that it is worth exploiting?
It is not worth diving into a niche that is adequately served by the competition, and by a similar token, a niche that has no customers has little, or no, earning potential.
For a niche to be worthwhile, it has to have the following profile:
* Have potential customers looking for information and/or products;
* Be serviced by low quality content providers;
* As a bonus – be a niche set to explode.
The first two in the above list are inherently empirical. That is, they can be measured, and if they can be measured, they can be tested. The final item on the list is often qualitative – it cannot be accurately measured, and requires a certain amount of subject knowledge to predict.
Finding Potential Niche Customers
So, what defines a potential customer?
The profile that they fit is as follows:
* Searching for niche content;
* Using brand keywords in searches.
These are not necessarily high volume searches, but it is better to have 60% of a low volume niche than less than 1% of a high volume niche (studies show that 60-70% of search engine actions occur from the first page of results). Of course, there is a tipover point where this is no longer true – at which point the revenue from 1% will potentially outstrip the revenue from the 60% of a low volume keyword – which is where the second of the two profile points above comes in.
A searcher using brand keywords is looking for either comparison on price, or features. Either way, there is a good chance that, faced with the opportunity to buy, that is what they will do.
So, a niche content builder needs traffic, but traffic that is looking to make a purchase. In search marketing terms, this is known as traffic with a high conversion rate.
Introducing the Market Samurai
The Market Samurai is a tool that can help with this research. While it is possible to do manually, it is, as the reader will have realized, quite an intensive process. The Market Samurai automates the process, in revealing the following key attributes for a search term:
* The AdSense CPC (Cost Per Click);
* The Search Volume;
* The OCI index.
The last of these is an indicator of whether or not the visitor has gone on to make a purchase. While not 100% reliable, it is a reasonable comparison point for two equally interesting niche phrases.
Often, a niche affiliate marketer can locate a profitable mass market niche based on these three attributes alone. They can then apply the Conduit Method, or some other content creation category to build out a set of pages that will generate revenue in the chosen niche.
