To submit your website to link directories is something that should not be underestimated. There are lots of good search engine friendly link directories on the Internet. Links from link directories have been good in the past but started losing a bit of link value, but it is a very important part of search engine optimization.
There are several really heavy link directories that you definitely benefit from being registered in, some of these are:
* DMOZ (Hard to get to their website there.)
* Infoo, Swedish länkkatalog formerly operated by the Royal Institute of Technology.
* Yahoo (costs money, is worth the serious side)
However, it is important to announce your site to smaller link directories. For this there is plenty of both general and niche link directories. Try to find a niche directory for your website, links from there provids the most relevance.
